Chemical Peels
A Chemical Peel is a carefully formulated chemical solution applied to the skin and allowed to soak in for a carefully measured amount of time.
Some solutions can only be administered under the direction of a doctor. Depending on the strength of the solution, the duration of the application, and the patient, varying depths of skin will peel off over the next 1-7 days.
The lightest peels will not cause any visible peeling, but work more as a brightening agent.

Micro-Needling Procedure
After we determine what kind of peel will give you the best results, you may be asked to use a particular type of cleanser or stop using retinol for 1-2 weeks prior to the peel.
Strong sunscreen is also often recommended prior to a peel, and short courses of antiviral medications may be prescribed for deep peels.
The peel is applied to the skin and left in place for several hours after your visit.
The peel will self-neutralize after a measure of time. Light peels cause very little, if any, discomfort.
The most aggressive peels may cause moderate discomfort during application, but not to any level that should discourage a patient from using that peel.
The entire peel application process usually takes about 45 minutes.
We provide take-home kits for proper care of the skin after the peel, and may recommend certain products from our SkinMedica or Dermalogica lines to help the healing process.
We typically recommend the SkinMedica and VI Peel brands of peels, as they are the industry leaders in chemical peels and have the best results at each level of peel.
SkinMedica offers a range of light peels, and VI offers a range of more aggressive peels. More information on each type of peel is provided below.

SkinMedica Illuminize Peel
Appropriate for mild imperfections. Used to brighten the overall appearance of the skin and typically a more radiant skin is visible after a single treatment.
Normally, this peel is prescribed as part of a set or regular maintenance program.
It is more invasive than a facial, but without any downtime for peeling or redness.
Gives an immediate glow and can be performed regularly for exponential results and ongoing maintenance of skin conditions, and is only $100.*

SkinMedica Vitalize Peel
The most popular of the SkinMedica Peels, this is a more aggressive peel that will cause the face to shed it’s outer layer beginning about 2 days after application.
The peeling will last 2-3 days. If you want to peel on the weekend, schedule this for a Wednesday night.
The result is less acne, less acne scarring, less sun damage, and fewer brown spots.*
This peel is often used as part of a set or part of a maintenance program Only $130.

SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel
The strongest SkinMedica Peel. Peeling will last 3-4 days, and will be deeper than the other peels.
This peel is ideal for deeper scarring, more severe skin conditions, or people accustomed to medical-grade peels looking for a slightly stronger option than the lightest peels but not quite to the level of medical-grade peels.
This peel has excellent results after one treatment, but is often used as part of a set of 2 or more peels to achieve extreme results without the downtime of a medical-grade peel.* Only $160.

VI Peel
VI is the industry leader in physician-grade peels.
The VI Peel is an excellent peel for aggressive action against aging, acne, wrinkles, or any other skin condition.
It has a broad range of conditions that can be addressed, and typically heals completely in 8-10 days.

VI Peel with Precision Plus
This is another aggressive medical-grade peel from VI, and is ideal for more severe aging or hyper-pigmentation. Peeling will be complete in about a week with very little discomfort, and the results can be dramatic.
Usually, one peel is enough to garner excellent results, but this peel can be repeated if desired. Only $200.

VI Peel for Acne
This peel is specifically engineered to address acne in teens and young adults, and is typically very effective.
A single peel can treat mild/moderate acne and acne scars, and a set of three peels can treat even the most severe acne and acne scars for only $175.
