Fat Transfer (Brazilian Butt Lift)

Fat transfer is the process of removing fat from one area of the body, purifying it, and injecting it into another area of the body.

The transferred fat will attach and develop blood supply where it is injected, though some fat is always lost in the process.

The result is a living tissue, and is generally considered permanent.

Fat Transfer Procedure

Fat can be harvested from any area that liposuction can be performed. The most common areas are the abdomen, flanks, and thighs.

The fat is removed in a traditional liposuction procedure to ensure that it is not damaged.

After harvesting, we use a laser-assisted Smart Lipo procedure to remove additional fat or contour the area as necessary.

The fat is harvested, filtered, actively washed, and cleared of collagen bands in our REVOLVE single-use fat transfer system.

Revolve fat transfer procedure

This system prepares the fat for injection, and produces a higher percentage of quality fat for transfer than other systems or methods.

Properly filtering and washing the fat is necessary to maximize the results of the transfer.

Once the fat is prepared, it is drawn into a syringe and injected into the target area. Transfers into smaller areas like lips or cheeks can eliminate the need for fillers like Juvederm or Voluma.

Transfers into larger areas like breasts or buttocks may reduce the need for implants, or may be used to contour around implants or to give implants a more natural appearance.

Typically, about 70% of the fat will successfully transfer to the new area.

Doctors will typically transfer slightly more fat than necessary to compensate for this, but each patient is different and some patients may require touch-ups to reach the desired result.

The fat in the new area will develop blood supply and become part of the tissue, so no further treatment is required after the desired result is achieved.

This is great for patients that have filler fatigue or are looking for a permanent contour in a target area.

Fat Transfer Cost

Fat transfer is a labor-intensive procedure, and can be expensive because it is a combination of liposuction, fat preparation, and injections.

We try to keep the cost as low as possible, sometimes as low as only $1500 added to the price of the liposuction.

The procedure is very patient-specific, as the amount of fat harvested and injected will determine the cost.
